Portrait of Katrina Rohman

Katrina Rohman

Trustee

Katrina has always lived in Cardiff and grew up in nearby Gabalfa and Llandaff North. As a result, she has frequented Insole Court for over three decades for evening walks, picnics with the family and as a base to meet friends. The buildings and grounds inspire a lot of sentimental feelings and memories.

After leaving Whitchurch High School at age 16, she began her career at the Guardian Media Group, based at Real Radio Wales. Initially, starting in the commercial scheduling team, she was then promoted to Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator. Supporting the team to plan and buy media campaigns and organising the annual charity on-air fundraisers, such as Bring a Pound to Work Day.

After nearly ten years, Katrina moved on to flex her skills in other industries. The first stop was Events Manager at Cardiff University Students' Union, planning club nights, professional parties, awards dinners, conferences and the end of year Summer Ball, before then moving on to be Communities Marketing Manager at Cardiff Council; re-branding the Telecare department and conducting a project for libraries to see if they could be profitable entities. She also spent time at The Foster Care Co-operative to devise their marketing strategy. As much as these roles were able to help build a broad range of skills in marketing and digital creation, her heart was in another industry. Katrina later went onto work for Brains as a Wedding Planner before becoming Assistant Manager at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa, helping over 1,000 couples plan their big day!

Finding her niche, Katrina started to succeed in her career and has a deep understanding of promoting and marketing hotels, restaurants, gyms, spas, golf courses, conferences, weddings and events. Katrina has worked closely with Visit Cardiff, Southern Wales Tourism Group and Visit Wales, and was also the Chair of Visit Caerphilly for three years. Currently, Katrina is at Future Inns UK as the Group Marketing Manager.

Travel, tourism and food are in her blood. Most weekends, you can find Katrina exploring local heritage, historic houses, or walking trails with her four-legged sidekick, Ivan! She loves to try out Cardiff's cafes, pubs, and restaurants, especially those focusing on homemade, local food. She's also known as Real Girls Wobble, a multi-award-winning local travel and staycation blog which focuses on things to do in Cardiff.
