4-Week Course – Meeting difficult emotions with self-compassion

Where: Carriage Hall
When: 4 Friday morning session: starts 3 May 2019 Times: 11:00- 1:30pm

We all experience difficult emotions from time to time. It’s part of being human. This course is an opportunity to learn more about our emotions; how to recognise them and actively work with them. We will focus on how to build resilience through bringing the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to our emotional lives.

We will learn skills to help us to meet our emotions rather than struggling with them and trying to avoid them. The course will draw on the fields of mindfulness, self-compassion and the work of Germer and Neff (Self-compassion), Hayes and Harris (ACT), Elliot and Greenberg (Emotion Focused Therapy) and Gilbert (Compassionate Mind).

Feedback from previous students:

It has transformed my mental health. L. Livingstone, Cardiff

I am less caught up in my thoughts, I've slowed down and have a greater appreciation of things around me. Ann S. Manager, Newport

I feel less overwhelmed, more productive and more balanced. Charlotte, Student Support Officer, Cardiff
