Classical Education Forum

Where: Mansion East Wing

The Classical Education Forum, ‘The University in the Community’, has been providing a range of adult education courses for the last fourteen years. The courses are written and delivered by experts in their own field. The courses are challenging and mind-stretching and subject areas include Archaeology, Art History, Ancient History, British History and World History, Classical Studies, Egyptology, History through Literature, and Ancient and Modern Languages. The emphasis is on learning for enjoyment therefore there is no accreditation; the courses are designed to extend knowledge and to teach something new in order to help keep these subjects relevant in the modern world. Some include a field trip. Students study courses either over a number of weeks for an hour or more or as a Day School.

CEF strives to extend its reach to as large a community as possible and therefore our courses can be accessed from around the world via Zoom. Otherwise, you can attend in person at Insole Court, where there is always a warm welcome for students of any educational background who wish to extend their minds and meet like-minded people.
