Growing the Future: Leek & Ham Scones. Free Cookery Class for 2+


During this session the children will be looking at how leeks grow, where our butter comes from and what animal gives us our ham (vegetarian and vegan option available - please make a note when booking). We'll then be using our finger tips to 'tickle' our mixture, stirring and squashing to make our dough then cutting out six gorgeous little scones. The scones will be taken home to cook, box for transport provided along with recipe containing cooking instructions.

Arty Cooks is very excited to be working with the National Botanic Garden of Wales to deliver this course as part of a fabulous project, 'Growing The Future', which champions Welsh horticulture, plants for pollinators, the protection of wildlife and the virtues of growing plants for food, fun, health and well-being.

This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
