Growing the Future: Starry Mince Pies

'Starry Mince Pies' is the fourth in a series of individual cookery courses held at the beautiful Insole Court in Llandaff, Cardiff, aimed at pre-school children aged 2-5 years.

As Christmas is nearly with us, what better time to make a batch of starry mince pies! First we will be looking at where our eggs, flour and butter come from, then your child will then be guided through making 6 individual mince pies.

The mince pies will be prepared during the session, then placed in box for you to take home and bake. Box for transport and recipe containing cooking instructions provided.

Arty Cooks is very excited to be working with the National Botanic Garden of Wales to deliver this course as part of a fabulous project, 'Growing The Future', which champions Welsh horticulture, plants for pollinators, the protection of wildlife and the virtues of growing plants for food, fun, health and well-being.

This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.

Gan fod y Nadolig yn agosáu, pa amser gwell i wneud swp o basteiod Nadolig serennog! Yn gyntaf, byddwn yn trafod o ble mae ein hwyau, blawd a menyn yn dod, yna bydd eich plentyn yn cael ei dangos sut i wneud 6 pastai Nadolig unigol.

Bydd y pasteiod Nadolig yn cael eu paratoi yn ystod y sesiwn a’u gosod mewn cynhwysydd i chi fynd adref a’u pobi. Darperir blwch cludo a rysáit gyda chyfarwyddiadau coginio.
