Tending the Herbaceous Border

Our cherished garden volunteers continue to work hard in the herbaceous border at the bottom of the site and are making good progress. On Thursday the robins hopped around inquisitively, keen to observe and sang sweet songs of encouragement as we turned the soil.

We are ever grateful to the council who own and maintain the gardens. Happily, they have given us the go-ahead to manage the herbaceous border, which was under threat of being grassed over.

An herbaceous border fundraiser will take place on Saturday 12th May and we welcome attendance from local residents. It will coincide with the community garden plant sale and will be a real treat for garden lovers. Watch this space for more information.

We meet every Thursday, 1pm – 3pm. New volunteers always welcome. No experience necessary.
