‘People told stories about the lake. They said there was a monster in it. An afanc, a monster with skin as thick as iron and teeth as long as your arm.’

Join local social enterprise Green Squirrel for a day of creativity, community and storytelling in the beautiful surroundings of Insole Court as part of their project; The Girl Who Wouldn’t Give Up. Experience our bilingual story performed live and get inspired to make your voice heard and take action.

Take part in free creative activities throughout the day including a collaborative willow sculpture, creative writing, bookmark making and lots more! In addition, Insole Court will be hosting their first Plant Fair of the year so you can browse lots of stalls and treat yourself to some affordable and locally grown plant friends!

Storytelling performances will take place at 11am and 1pm in the Courtyard.

If you are interested in the willow sculpture workshop please click here to find out more and book separately as there are limited places available.

The project is based on a traditional Welsh tale of hope, resilience and the power of young people and communities to create incredible change. Find out more about the project here and download free toolkits and a story pack!
